Brief look in to the history of Tlhomelang High School
Reasons why the school was established
Tlhomelang High School was established in 1979 and was named after Mr Michael Tlhomelang who was one of the Advisory Board members in Galeshewe. His son, the late Mr J.K. "Phogy" Tlhomelang was the secretary of the now defunct school's board for 20 years.

The school went through changes over the years. it changed names and locations.

When the school was established in 1979 it was called Tlhomelang Secondary School up to 2011 and changed the name to Floors No2 High School at the year 2012.

From 2012 to 2023 the school continued to be called Floors No2 high School then again now in 2024 the school changed the name back to Tlhomelang High School.
1. With Exploitation of black population in Kimberley and thirst for education in black societies - Galeshewe was no exception.
2. During the riots and boycotts from !976 - one of the main complaints was the lack of high schools in South Africa.
3. Galeshwe had way too many primary schools than secondary schools leaving children from primary to stay home when they were supposed to move to secondary.
4. In 1976 - 1978 we only had Tshireleco High, Green Point Secondary(now Dr E.P. Lekhela) and St. Boniface High which was a private school
5. The D.E.T and the Administration Board decided to build Tlhomelang and Thabane Secondary School.
